Hubungan Pengetahuan dan Sikap Bidan Terhadap Penanganan Bayi Baru Lahir 0-6 Jam di Kota Binjai Tahun 2021

Abstract

Handling of newborns 0-6 hours is a treatment that aims to clear the airway, cut and care for the umbilical cord, maintain the baby's body temperature, identify and prevent infection. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of midwives on handling newborns 0-6 hours in Binjai City in 2021. This research is an analytical study with a case sectional study design. The population in this study were all midwives in Binjai City as many as 95 midwives. The research sample was obtained as many as 48 midwives. Research data processing consists of editing, coding, entry, cleaning, tabulating. Data analysis consisted of univariate and bivariate with Chi Square test. The results showed that there was a relationship between the knowledge of the midwife and the handling of newborns 0-6 hours (p = 0.000). There was a relationship between the attitude of the midwife and the handling of newborns 0-6 hours (p = 0.028). Therefore, midwives should be able to take the time to attend training organized by hospitals or health centers on handling newborns so that they can increase the knowledge and attitudes of midwives in handling newborns.
